Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Bizarre rock resembling sfinx. It consists of coarse-grained porphyritic orthogneiss (belonging to a group of red gneisses after Saxonian geologists). Such gneisses occur often in cores of anticlinal structures. Geomorphologically and petrologically interesting locality.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Saxothuringicum - Krušné hory and Smrčiny crystalline complexes
