Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Moldanubicum, magmatites, Central Moldanubian Pluton. Summit rocky ridge exposing medium grained porphyric granite of Weinsberg type with groundmass made of quartz, plagioclase, potassium feldspar and biotite. Exfoliation structures of various scale. Large scale exfoliation forms domal structures, small scale exfoliation separation of outer layers of spheroidal forms. This locality belongs to the National Park Novohradské hory (Nové Hrady Mts.).
