Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. Artifical trench exposing quartzose sandstones with layers of ferrolite of the Teplice Formation. Ferrolites contain about 30 p.c. of Fe hydroxide and are enriched in phosphorus. They were formed by ferrugination at a contact with basanite. This locality is registered and situated in the Geopark and Protected Landscape Area Český ráj - the Bohemian Paradise.
