Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Carpathian Foredeep, Neogene. Scattered outcrops of algal Lithothamnian limestones of Early Badenian age. These bioclastic limestones represent a relic of tectonic slices and cliffs. Their boundarty with underlying calcareous shales (tegl) are not exposed. Limestones are karstified with many cavities and karren. Nature Monument.
