Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Bohemian Cretaceous Basin, geomorphological phenomenon. Rocky wall exhibiting quadersandstones of the Teplice Formation enabled formation of travertine cascade as much as 10 m high. This travertine is highly porous, greyish white and encloses tree leaves and plants. Surrounding sandstones exhibit numerous pseudokarst features and travertine incrustations. Calcareous cement of sandstones can be considered source of carbonate. Stratigraphic boundary between the Teplice and Březno formations can be found nearby.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Cretaceous - Czech Cretaceous Basin, Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Quaternary - Quaternary of deposition areas of Bohemian Massif
Stratigraphy: mezozoikum - křída - svrchní křída - turon, kenozoikum - kvartér
