Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Boskovice Graben, Permocarboniferous. Rocky outcrops formed of conglomerates. They are medium- up to coarse-grained with maximum size of clasts of 30 cm. Alternation of coarser and finer layers. Lower Carboniferous greywackes prevail in clast material. Clasts are subangular up to subrounded, material is unsorted without preferred orientation of pebbles. Depositional environment can be characterized as alluvial fans along a margin of the Boskovice Graben. This locality is classified as a Nature Monument.
