Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Approx. 70 m long outcrop at the road to Střezina settlement. Brown to greenish grey mudstone with interbeds of grey sandstones and coarse grained feldspathic sandstones. Two key horizons crop here out: Vítovy doly Horizon with grey and greenish grey siltstones, mudstones and a thin (20 cm) coal seam with high content of ash and a horizon with carbonatic concretions. Some fossil plant leaves have been found here. - Jívka Member of Odolov Formation (Barruelian - Stephan B).
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Upper Carboniferous and Permian - Lugic Late Palaeozoicum (including Triassic deposits)
