Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Group of natural and artificial outcrops. Part of a Doupov pyroclastic commplex is exposed here. Hyalite precipitates occur on the boundary between volcanic scoria and lava. It lies on quartzose sandstones and conglomerates which are of Paleogene age. They represent an eastermost occurrence of the Staré Sedlo Formation.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Tertiary - Basins under Krušné hory Mts.and adjoining volcanic uplands
Stratigraphy: kenozoikum - terciér (paleogén - neogén)
