Geology
Short characteristics of the site: This locality represents a rocky slope overlooking meandering Dyje River channel (Thaya River). The bedrock is formed of the Moldanubicum Crystalline with prevailing banded biotite migmatite. It is overlain by pale fine grained granulite and this one again by sillimanite-biotite paragneiss, amphibolite and aplite dykes. The slope foot is rich in blocky scree, on the other hand on elevated parts frost weathering phenomena can be seen. This locality is a part of metamorphic units of the Moldanubicum. It is registered as a Nature Reserve.
