Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Vienna Basin, Neogene and Quaternary. National Nature Monument. Gently undulating plain with a belt of aeolian dunes. Late Tertiary sediments and river terraces served as a source material for aeolian dunes. Their cover is 10 - 30 m thick. This sand is predominantly quartzose, acidic. Very interesting and attractive fauna and xerophytic flora.
