Geology

Short characteristics of the site: The locality is called "the Velký Stanov" and its area shows morphologically differentiated landscape. Part of it reminds an inselberg, because it has been isolated by erosional aktivity of surrounding waterflows. The magmatic complex is represented by several types of tonalites and granodiorites. Their bodies have been emplaced during different stages and their interaction was extremely complicated. The elevated parts have suffered an impact of frost weathering and exfoliation. Gologically this locality belongs to the Oheb, Polička and Svratka Crystalline of Proterozoic age.
