Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Svratka Crystalline. Old open pit mine with relics of mine workings. Skarn body was exploited there. Iron ore was exploited already in the 14th century. Later, in 20th century, this deposit was reopened and surveyed for uranium. Now these pits are dumped and mining works only scarcely preserved, moreover deepest parts are flooded. Several skarn types were described there, garnet-pyroxene being the most abundant. In 1950 three drillings were realized by the Uranium Industry enterprise.
