Geology
Short characteristics of the site: The Barrandian Palaeozoic. National Nature Reserve. The slope of Berounka River Valley, modelled by cryogenic processes. Rock basement consists party of Neoproterozoic greywackes and clayey shales, parly of Upper Cambrian volcanics of the Křivoklát-Rokycany Complex, represented mostly by andesites. Quaternary cover of variable thickness, interesting flora.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Bohemicum (Central Bohemian region) - Barrandien
