Geology
Short characteristics of the site: The Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. Outcrops of nearly horizontally bedded calcareous sandstones, marlstones and calcareous claystones (so called Inoceramus "opuka") (Middle Turonian up to Lower Coniac). Locally terrace deposits of the Cidlina River are preserved. Cretaceous sediments are fossiliferous, shells of Inoceramus are abundant.
