Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Marine Upper Cenomanian sandstones (Korycany Member)in the SE part of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin in the vicinity of Letovice north of Brno contain spherical Fe-concretions mainly 10-20 cms in diameter. The spherical bodies are of hypergenic origin. The source of Fe was the weathering of glauconite.
