Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Silesicum and Žulová Massif. Rock of mica schist character with typomorphic association of metamorphic minerals. Porphyroblastic texture, staurolite forms porphyroblasts as large as 2 cm across, matrix consists of quartz, biotite and muscovite. Garnet, plagioclase and sillimanite are also present. The rock is strongly foliated. Nature reserve in the Protected Landscape Area Jeseníky.
