Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Silesicum and Žulová Massif. Marble quarry. Crystalline limestone, fine grained, streaky, with granoblastic texture prevails. It contains only small amounts of silicate impurities (about 1 %), mainly phologopite, quartz and plagioclase. Gneiss is also preswent in this quarry. The two rocks are penetrated by a dyke o diopside pegmatite. This quarry served as an important source of decorative stone (Supíkovice Marble) which is occassionally quarried till now.
