Geology

Short characteristics of the site: West Carpathians, Silesian and Subsilesian units, hydrogeology. Five individual springs with acidulous water, oriented in one line along overthrust plane within the Silesian nappe. Along this tectonic line Albian claystones were thrust over Maastrichtian claystones and sandstones. Water composition of individual springs differs. One of them contains H2S, other one deposits a crust of oxyhydroxides. Springs are surrounded and partly covered by a thick layer of colluvial sediments. This locality is protected as the Nature Monument and belongs to the Geopark Podbeskydí.
