Geology
Short characteristics of the site: An orthogneiss outcrop on top of Kapucín Hill at Černice, west of Horní Jiřetín. Muscovite-biotite orthogneisses with leaf-like structure are underlain by those with augen structure. Folded foliation planes can be observed, with fold axes parallel to mineral elongation in the augen gneisses.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Saxothuringicum - Krušné hory and Smrčiny crystalline complexes
