Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Moravicum, Tertiary relics. Old kaolin quarry. Kaolin deposit is situated on a contact of cataclyzed granodiorite and so called Innter Phyllite Series. Kaolin exploitation was stopped in 1939 because of bad quality of this raw material. Several prospection shafts were made there and discovered several coal seams. Surrounded sediments yielded rich fauna of Miocene (Ottnagian) age. Miocene multicoloured clays contain some gravel layers. They represent relic of ancient valley fill.
