Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Former mines on the Hřebečovský hřbet Ridge N of Hřebeč near Moravská Třebová. Cretaceous coal (Cenomanian) was mined from 1860s, later followed by the extraction of refractory clays. The mine was closed in 1991. Spoil tips after clay mining are present. Guided tours by a narrow-gauge railway between Třebovice and Hřebeč are operated in July and August. Bohemian Cretaceous Basin.
