Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Moldanubicum of Šumava Mts. Rocky cliffs, block fields, consisting of medium grained hornblende-biotite melanocratic granite up to syenite (durbachite). They represent part of Knížecí stolec pluton with its sort in the Earth mantle enriched in light lithophile and rare earth elements. Ages of emplacement and crystallization processes correspond with a main phase of Variscan orogenic processes (about 339 Ma).
