Geology

Short characteristics of the site: This locality belongs to the Šumava Moldanubicum. It is called the Stožec Mt.nearly thousand metresa high and of its blocky slope scree. Petrologically the rock belongs to the medium grained amphibole-biotite durbachite and leucocratic muscovite-biotite granite with turmaline in places. The origin of the two rocks can be correlated with a main stage of Variscan orogeny (about 340 m.a. BP).
