Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned kaolin quarry with kaolinized sands and sandstones of the Staré Sedlo Formation. They are covered by an irregular layer of a silcrete. This is overlain by a 70 m thick volcaniclastic and pyroclastic complex, very variable in grain-size and origin. The pyroclastic deposits contain fossils of Oligocene fauna.
