Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Thze Most Basin. The Ohře (Eger) River valley. Crystalline rocks are exposed, part of the Krušné Hory Mts Crystalline which are exposed on the opposite side of the Krušné Hory fault line. The granulitic gneisses with granulites of Upper Proterzoic up to Lower Paleozoic are present. Slopes are covered with blocky talus. The Ohře River forms well developed superinduced meanders.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Saxothuringicum - Late Paleozoic Unit in the SE part of the Saxothuringicum
