Geology

Short characteristics of the site: The Svratka Crystalline. Flooded and partly forested quarry. Nature Reserve in the Protected Landscape Area. Outcrop of a medium grained muscovite-biotite paragneiss of a mica-schist appearance. Sharp contact with a migmatite up to orthogneiss. The rock consists of prevailing xenomorphic quartz and plagioclase (albite-oligoclase). Accessoric apatite and ore minerals also occur. Mica locally accumulate into nests and lenses. Automorphic garnet is also present.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Kutná Hora and Svratka region - Svratka crystalline complex
