Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Moravian Palaeozoic. Karst area, karst superficial and underground phenomena developed in the Devonian limestones. Limestone cliff is exposed and dominates over surrounding Culm shales. Numerous karst features, as karren, rock gates, cliffs, sink holes, etc. Also caves with loam fill, sinter crusts and dripstone decoration are present. Upper part of this cave system is open for public. Protected wintering grounds of bats. This locality is registered as National Nature Reserve.
