Geology

Short characteristics of the site: West Carpathians, the Račany Unit. Highest point of the Chřiby Mts, isoloated rocky elevation, called Kazatelna (the Pulpit). It consists of sandstones of the Magura flysch (Paleocene age). They are medium grained, brownish, with quartz, potassium feldspar and micas. Sandstone surface is full of meso- and microrelief features, as aeroxysts. Protected as Nature Monument.
