Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned quarries on the right stream bank at the site of the former village of Libná near Teplice nad Metují. Quarry walls show most of the section of the Korycany Member (Cenomanian): medium-grained glauconitic sandstones at the base, followed by clayey-silty sandstones with common trace fossils, and by dark grey calcareous siltstones evidencing anoxic environment. Bohemian Cretaceous Basin.
