Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Bohemian Massif, Prevariscan Palaeozoic, magmatites. Three abandoned shelf quarries showing light fine grained leucocratic biotite granite, so called "the Těšovice Granite". This rock is strongly weathered up to gruss, potassium feldspars are kaolinized and dark minerals chloritized. This granite was earlier quarried for aggregate production, its fresh parts for building purposes.
