Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Rocky outcrops at eastern walls of the ruine of medieval castle. Kumburk Formation, Štikov arkoses (Carboniferous,Asturian-Barruelian). Type locality of Štikov Member. Coarse grained feldspathic sandstones to arkoses with lenticular layers of conglomerate. They contain hematitic concretions and at the castle logs of Agathoxylon. in situ. Deposits are of fluviatile origin. The source area is in the south.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Upper Carboniferous and Permian - Lugic Late Palaeozoicum (including Triassic deposits)
