Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned sand pit exposing sandstones of the Merboltice Formatiuon. After washing of the kaolinite component, the sand was used for glass production, finer fraction was utilized as abrasive sands and also as foundry sands. A talus cone formed by a rockfall. The landslides destructed some oof the most important localities with zeolites in Europe.
