Short characteristics of the site: Outcrop near a railway cut. Intrusive body of a nepheline basanite, exposed from the sandstones of the Merboltice Formation by erosion of Labe (Elbe) River. Fan-like arrangement of basanite colums represents unique phenomenon. So-called Humboldt Viewpoint in the vicinity.
