Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Abandoned quarry where upper diatreme faces were exposed. Intrusive breccia was formed by an interaction of magma with surrounding wet sediment. Cores of so-called stone suns consist of Cretaceous marlstones xenoliths and their rays were formed as contraction craks due to cooling of pyroclastic material by much colder xenoliths. Petrologically and geomorphologically unique feature.
