Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Series of outcrops on river bank exposing the contact between the Proterozoic and Central Bohemian Pluton. The pluton consists of hornblende-biotite granodiorite of Sázava type. Proterozoic sediments are contactly metamorphosed into biotitic hornfels. Very instructive section.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Moldanubicum - Magmatites in Moldanubicum, Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Bohemicum (Central Bohemian region) - Barrandien
Stratigraphy: variské (hercynské) stáří vyvřelin, proterozoikum
