Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Balancing rock formed of a porphyritic granite of Zvůle type. This granite is a part of a Central Moldanubian pluton. Several types of weathering and granite erosion were described in the literature. Petrologically and geomorphologically interesting locality.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Moldanubicum - Magmatites in Moldanubicum
