Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Forested slopes of a hill. Consists of Proterozoic metabasalts covered with lydite tylus. Stromatolitic textures were found on this locality. They were thoroughly studied and their biogenic origin proved. Also traces of old mining works. Very interesting reference locality of Proterozoic stromatolites.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Bohemicum (Central Bohemian region) - Barrandien
