Short characteristics of the site: Artificial cut exposing a relic of the Sarmatian sediments. Unique document of the Neogene transgression (Venna Basin) over the Outer Carpathian flysch. Also important paleontological locality of molluscan assemblages of the Sarmatian age and an instructive example of an angular unconformity.
