Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Natural outcrops expose the Cambrian Jince Formation of the biozone Hydrocephallus lyelli. The sediments consist of fissile shales with an admixture of silty and sandy siliciclastics. The shales contain faunal remains, mainly brachiopods. The boundary between the Cambrian and Ordovician is also well exposed.
