Short characteristics of the site: This locality is of hydrogeological interest. It is located on the southwestern slope of the Železné hory Mts. The Cretaceous sequence consists of Cenomanian sandstones and claystones and overlying Lower Turonian marlstones and sandy marlstones. Here the colectors alternate with isolators. The environment is affected by fault lines which separate the aquifers into blocks. There are several groundwater sources, some of them with immense inflow of groundwater. The Blatnice water well offers great reserves of groundwater as well as water source Ostrovec. The information panel will be arranged for this locality. The locality belongs to the National Geopark "Železné hory - the Iron Mountains".
