Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Active quarry exposing Paleozoic diabases and overlying Cretaceous conglomerates. So called surf facies is represeted by channel deep incesed into underlyig metadolerite and filled by coarse calcareous conglomerates and marlstones. Conglomerates yield rich shallow and warm-water macrofana of the Cenomanian-Turonian age.Sedimentologically important locality.
