Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Rugged dominant ridge formed of tilted up to recumbent folds of the Cretaceous Cenomanian sandstones near to the Lužice fracture zone. This unique geomorphological feature is also called The Bohemian Dolomites. Sandstones are jointed, crushed and often silicified. Suché skály is a rock complex built up by vertical sandstone beds. It is a frequently visited site favoured by tourists and mountaineers.
