Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Kutná Hora Crystalline. Small old quarry. Srpentinite body is exposed with veins of pyroxenite with garnet. According to detailed petrologic study this rock is classified as serpentinized garnetic lherzolite. Garnets are 4 - 8 mm large and of pyrope composition.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Kutná Hora and Svratka region - Kutná Hora crystalline complex
