Geology
Short characteristics of the site: An active quarry and several abandoned quarries in glauconite-bearing and limonitic Cretaceous sandstones at Libná near Teplice nad Metují. A complete lithological section is preserved in the eastern quarry. A system of orthogonal joints is visible in the top part of the quarry walls. Numerous finds of fossil fauna near quarry base include bivalves, serpulid worms and brachiopods. Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. The locality is situated in the Protected Landscape Area Broumovsko.
