Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Isolated hill with a ruin of medieval castle. It is formed of a vent fill consisting of a basalt breccia and surrounding massive basalt rock. The breccia contains xenoliths of the Cretaceous and crystalline rocks. Petrologically and volcanologically significant site.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - superficial deposits and post-Variscian magmatites - Tertiary - Basins under Krušné hory Mts.and adjoining volcanic uplands
