Geology
Short characteristics of the site: Giant kaoline open pit. Kaolinitic sands are exploited. They are of variable grain-size, also with gravel interbeds. Sands exhibit common oblique bedding. All the sediments are part of the Plzeň basin and correspond the Týnec Formation (Carboniferous, Stephanian).
